Kenneth Ray Hunt Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Ray Hunt, 80, of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at his home.  He was born on August 3, 1943 in Davidson County, Thomasville, NC to Alton Eugene Hunt and Margaret Ida England Hunt.  He was a US Army veteran and he worked for 15 years with TFI – Plant C and later owned and operated Piedmont Stump Grinding for 20 years.    He loved fishing and hunting and at his request will be buried in his favorite jeans and white T-shirt and he wanted everyone to feel as though they could dress casually.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Lucille Brown Hunt on January 20, 1996, whom he married on August 11, 1962; his grandson, Matthew Ray Hunt; his brothers, Curtis Wayne Hunt and Charlie “Ted” Hunt; and his sister, Patricia “Pat” Hunt Whitfield.

Surviving are his son, James Hunt and wife Tara of Trinity; daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Hunt and Ashley Doerr and husband Chris, all of Asheboro; two sisters, Terry Hunt Pritchett and Carol Hunt Foley, both of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, Brittany Hunt, Kristin Swaney, Bradley Hunt, Corey Hunt, Jordan Hoover, Cameron Kelly, Madison Kelly, and Erica Puckett; eleven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Brayden, Cash, Brantley, Lilly, Kenzie, Matthew, Colter, Adam, Dane, and Gavin; and one great-great grandchild, Cason.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Monday, March 25, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Brenner Children’s Hospital, 1 Medical Center Blvd. Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
